IPTV tuner
There are now various products and accompanying software that allow you to “placeshift” a TV signal. The TV signal from your IPTV tuner is received by your computer or television anywhere in the world where you have a fast enough download speed to receive the data streamed from the fibre optic uplink we provide as part of your hosting service.
We will house your equipment in our data centre in Japan where you exclusively have access to it via the internet.
The software that enables you to view your IPTV tuner comes as a file on CD for you to install on one computer in your residence. The CD only allows one installation so make sure you install the software on the computer you will be using to view.
Your IPTV tuner will only allow one user at a time and is your personal device to be viewed only by you. All new customers will be offered a product made by Sony® called the “Location Free®”. It is an updated version of their original placeshifting product and streams a clear picture very well to remote locations.
Following a ruling by the Tokyo District Court on June 20th 2008 which gave legal sanction to use of this device for hosting purposes we will be exclusively hosting this device at http://watchjapanesetv.com the Sony PSP® is also compatible with this device.
A seperate digital terrestrial TV tuner is also potentially available in future, which, when connected to the ”Location Free®” allows for viewing digital terrestrial TV. Ordinarily you will receive only the available 7 analogue channels. Please feel free to enquire about this add on to the basic service.
♣All customers with equipment presently hosted at http://watchjapanesetv.com will be updated to this new product by 1st August 2009 or, if this is unacceptable to you, you may cancel your hosting subscription with us and be refunded for any remaining months subscription payments that you have made for any time following and after 1st August 2009.
Please bear with us during this transition period.
Many thanks
http://watchjapanesetv.com team.
